Before you replace your microwave oven because it won’t turn on or shuts off before the cooking time has ended check for gunk! This is most likely the culprit. Food particles build up on the door or hinges. This creates a fraction of an inch gap that triggers the microwave’s sensors that open the door thus it turns off. To fix this, sprinkle a moist sponge with baking soda and rub on the door frame and hinges. This will create a tight seal and prolong the life of your microwave.
