Tip of the Day: Prevent Frozen or Burst Pipes
Here on the East coast the weather has been fickle. Today is very windy and cold so there’s a chance of water pipes freezing or worse yet bursting. If you live in an older home, like I do, or not, it’s always a good idea to wrap any exposed pipes in insulation. Also, this is what I do when the temperature dips below freezing: I leave my kitchen faucet on a slow trickle over night (be sure to make certain the drain is clear or you’ll have a flood). This running water helps keep the pipes from freezing. It’s a much smaller cost in water consumption than to fix a burst pipe!
