Tip of the Day: Safely Iron Silk or Polyester

If you’ve ever tried to iron a silk or polyester garment you know how easily it can be ruined. Try this on something you are not too attached to: sprinkle baby powder on a cloth and rub this on the bottom of a cool iron until it disappears. Now, heat the iron until the residue disappears. Iron as usual. The powder leave a slick invisible coating that helps the iron glide over the fabric. Always test first in an inconspicuous spot.
