Tip of the Day: Hiccups? Another Remedy!

The next time you get those annoying hiccups, pour yourself a glass of water (duh!). Next, lay a paper towel over the top of the glass. Now take several sips of the water through the paper towel. The barrier of the paper towel forces your diaphragm to work harder to swallow the water. This changes your breathing pattern which counteracts the irregular movements of the diaphragm that cause the hiccups. Your spasms should end!
