The month May is here!  In addition to the warmer weather and beautiful flowers there’ll be savings for holidays like Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. It’s a good time to shop for your wardrobe. Light jackets and pants for Spring will be reduced now so the stores can make room for swimsuits, shorts, tanks, and tees.

Near Mother’s Day (5-12) you will find special gift prices on housewares, flowers, fragrances, and jewelry so you can treat Mom, aunts, sister, and friends.

If you need a new mattress, start your search this month. Many stores will have specials for the long Memorial Day weekend.

Speaking of the 3-day weekend, you’ll be able to book a quick getaway for less because in the Caribbean the high season is over, but for places like the Hamptons or Cape Cod it has yet to begin.

Think barbecues from mid-month on. Picnic supplies, outdoor furniture, garden games, and garden supplies will be on sale.

At the grocery store, combine your coupons with sales on hot dogs, ground beef, buns, ketchup, mustard, pickles, BBQ sauce, relish, salad dressing, chips, ice cream, frozen pies, bottled water, and soda.
