If your towels have a musty odor after a Summer of pool and beach fun you can eliminate the smell by adding 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide to your washing machine load when you add the detergent. (If you have a high-efficiency washer, add 2 tablespoons to the bleach compartment.) The peroxide dissolves the odor-causing mildew that is hidden in the fabric’s fibers. Ah, smells like Spring again!
