Nothing is worse than saving any tomato sauce-based food and finding your plastic container stained. These hard to remove discolorations can be avoided by spraying the container with non-stick cooking spray before filling. To help rid any stains that have occurred, wipe with a paper towel that has been dampened with lemon juice. Put the open container in the sun for at least one hour. This should help lessen the tomato tint.
