Did you know your refrigerator is sensitive to your kitchen’s temperature? So when you are away there is no ventilation and the kitchen so temperature rises. This will increase your refrigerator’s energy use by 50% as it tries to keep the inside cool. Since you are gone and no one should be opening and closing the refrigerator door, you can set the temperature lower to 42°F and the freezer to 5°F. Your food will stay safe the the unit won’t work as hard thus saving you money. Just be sure to remember to adjust the temperatures back to normal when you return!
