When you have leftover paint from previous projects, then go to use it for a touch up, and alas, you have lumpy paint due the the fallen, dried paint in the can, try this: stretch a pair of old panty hose over the can’s opening and secure with duct tape. Now, slowly, pour the paint into a tray. The panty hose acts as a filter and will catch any lumps or other debris, leaving the paint smooth and ready to apply. An added bonus the nylon acts to ward off splatters while pouring into the tray.
