If your curling iron, flat iron, and any other metal hair appliance is covered with residue from hairspray or styling products you can clean them with a paste made from enough hydrogen peroxide added to 1/4 cup of baking soda. Using your finger on the cool metal, rub the paste on then wipe off with a paper towel. The gunk should be gone.
