It’s cheaper to buy the GIANT-size bulky, heavy, awkward bag of rock salt. But, it is also almost impossible to drag, carry, and apply without pouring the entire bag! You can make a scoop to help with the application by very carefully cutting off the bottom of of a plastic milk jug. Be sure to keep the cap on. Then you can hold the handle to scoop out the heavy ice-melter and scoop away without any lifting!
