If you have a ball of twine to tie your recycled newspapers, etc, you know how frustrating it can be to untangle it every time you need some. Make this an easy task by poking a hole in the center of a plastic lid (like from your can of coffee), carefully using a screwdriver or scissors. Then, thread one end of the twine through the hole. The lid will hold the string and prevent it from being a tangled mess. If you wish, you can control this even further by placing the twine in a coffee can or other container and securing the lid.
