If your morning coffee is starting to taste bitter and it takes longer to brew you may need to clean your coffee maker because over time, mineral deposits, due to hard water, have clogged the tank. An easy and non-scrubbing way to do this is to fill the tank with equal parts of water and white vinegar. Run the machine without coffee. Toss the liquid in the pot and run again 2 more times with only water (again NO coffee) tossing each pot of water. The acids in the vinegar will have loosened the mineral deposits and they would have flushed out. Now you can brew a great-tasting cup of coffee! If you have a Keurig, fill the reserve with 1 1/4 cups white vinegar, place a cup under the spout, and run the machine without a pod or K-cup. repeat with only fresh water.
