It is inevitable, if you serve red wine and your tablecloth is white there will be a stain! Assuming your tablecloth is NOT made of paper you can save it for another occasion if you blot the stain with a paper towel. Then, place that section of the fabric inside a large bowl. Pour cold water on the spot and sprinkle with a layer of salt. Once the stain turns pink, add 2 cups of boiling water to the bowl. Let this sit for about 5 minutes. Then, launder as usual. The salt will have absorbed the wine before it had a chance to set and your tablecloth should be company-ready!
