If your silverware is looking dull, you can get it back to its shiny self in time for the next holiday feast with the help of a potato. Peel a potato, cut it into a few large pieces and boil in water for 10 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and take the potatoes out of the water. Save the water! When the water is completely cooled, place your silverware in the pot and soak for about a half an hour. Rinse off with warm water and buff dry with a soft, clean cloth. The natural acids that are released from the potato while it boiled will break down the tarnish. Now you can set the table!
