Whether you want to pack up your grilling tools until next spring or want them for tailgating, if they are rusty they won’t be touching any food. To clean these utensils cut off the top inch of a cucumber, dip it in salt, and use it to scrub the rust. The oxalic acid in the cucumber will bond with the oxidized iron in the rust so it will loosen the buildup. The salt is abrasive so it will remove the rust. Rinse off with cool water and dry thoroughly before storing.
