If you are thinking of spending your cash on pricey hair-care remedies, head to your kitchen to try these before you buy. For dandruff or an itchy scalp mix 1 part of apple cider vinegar with 2 parts of water. Massage this into your scalp and leave on for 5 minutes, then shampoo. The malic acid in the vinegar kills the yeast that causes this condition.

If you have dry strands, mix pureed sweet potatoes with 1/2 tablespoon honey. Apply to damp hair. Wait 20 minutes and rinse off. The moisturizing omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and E in the sweet potato is a natural conditioner.

If your hair is thinning whip some egg yolks and massage into damp hair. Wait 20 minutes. Rinse. The high content of biotin in the yolks strengths hair to grow thicker.
