It doesn’t matter if they come from the heat, Fido, or rainstorms, none of us wants yellow spots on our lawn. If you have some, you can rid them by mixing a can of cola, 1/4 cup dish soap, and 1 cup of ammonia. Pour this over the offending, discolored grass and in a few days your lawn should come back to life. The sugar in the cola will nourish the grass for faster growth while the ammonia enriches the soil with nitrogen, and the dish soap softens the soil for better absorption.
