I can get to about 70% savings with various coupons but how do you get $100 in groceries for 9.00 for example that you see people doing on tv?

The savings comes when you buy on sale and combine coupons. If you have double coupons that adds to your success. Also, do not forget to use the register coupons, that you received from previous shopping trips, that may be large dollar amounts off your next purchase. If you have a store coupon you can combine it with a manufacturers coupon. And lastly, send away for free offers that come back as free coupons. Believe me, the savings will add up.

When using double coupons – do you purchase several copies of the advertisment (i.e. 5 copies of the Sunday paper) or do stores limit the number of double coupons to use?

Every store has their own policy regarding double coupons. Mine allow 4 of the same exact coupon to be doubled, but do not limit the total amount of coupons that can be doubled. In that case, yes, I do get extra copies of Sunday newspaper coupons from friends, neighbors, relatives, and sometimes, by buying extra newspapers.

I always shop with coupons; however, being a single person, I sometimes don't think I see the full reward of my savings. Sometimes, I don't need three boxes of cereal or three bottles of bleach.

You can benefit from using coupons on one item or multiples when you combine them with a sale. If it is a special deal where you need to purchase more than one, try to see if any of your friends or relatives are in need of the item and split it with them. If it turns out that you have more than you need because of a deal, but still got it at a really cheap price, why not donate the surplus to a shelter?

Hi,

I found your site in a New York Times article. Congrats, you have made the big time! 🙂

I am a big believer in taking advance of coupons and sales whenever possible.

We operate an online store offering quality motorcycle gear. We offer coupons for 10 to 20% off everything in the store. It is amazing how few people take advantage of the offer.

Can you offer any suggestions on how to get the word out to more people? For example, can I post my coupon here?

Hopefully this isn't considered spam: my URL:http://donscycleware.com
coupon code: insider (currently worth 10% off everything in the store)

All my best,

Don

What stores will take more than 1 coupon? So far, all the stores in my area will only take 1 per item.

Not knowing your location it would be hard for me to answer your question. However, most stores take ONE coupon per item. In my New York City area, there is a limit of 4 like coupons on 4 like items, but no limit to the total amount of coupons redeemed.

I usually use coupons but don't normally put the amount of effort into it that I have seen on the Extreme Couponing show. Is there a website that can help us match available coupons with the store circulars?

First of all, Extreme Couponing is NOT a realistic shopping experience. There are great savings to be had by combining coupons with supermarket circular sales, however, most stores have limits and it appears that some of the stores on the TV show do not. That said, it does take effort and time. Each week find the items you need and then try to match them up with coupons from Sunday circulars, magazines, and printable coupon sites. There are MANY sites that will give you a run down on the sales with the coupons that go with them. My advice is to search for them either by word of mouth or on the Internet. I do NOT have any first hand experience with any of these and therfore would hesitate to recommend one.
